This week our Virtual Book Display is featuring Quilts, Quilters, and Quilting. A beautiful (and warm) quilt may be just the thing for the cool nights quickly approaching.
On Monday, October 30, 2006, join the Book Discussion group at the Citrus Springs Library. This month we’re be discussing the The Fisherman’s Quilt by Margaret Doyle. “Both adventure and romance, this is the story of a young woman’s move to Alaska with her fisherman husband, new baby, and first, fancy quilt”.
Be sure to also join us at the Library for the Quilters’ Circle program on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 1pm. This month the quilters will be displaying their quilts throughout the Citrus Springs Library. They will also be demonstrating quilting techiques in the Community Room. Light refreshments will be served.

I have all the Elm Creek books and have loved everyone. These stories are about me and my friends. I have passed the books on to all my friends and they feel the same way. Looking forward to this month’s book discussion on The Fisherman’s Quilt.

It is nice to have a book that is an easy read and related to one of my passions.

I too have read all the Elm Creek Series. You don’t have to be a quilter to enjoy these touching, gentle stories about the quiet lives that people live. Although, after reading a few of Jennifer Chiaverini’s charming novels, I found myself tempted to give quilting a try! These novels are a perfect gift to give to anybody who enjoys quilting, or anyone who simply enjoys pleasant stories about the small trials and successes in the lives of ordinary people. The Fisherman’s Quilt is also a beautiful love/adventure story.

I borrowed the 2nd and 3rd book in the series from the library. I’m on the hold list for the 1st book.
