Our display for November 25, 2006 brings together the western story genre and the historical genre set during the Civil War.
- The Buckskin Line by Elmer Kelton is an early novel on the early days of the Texas Rangers.
- Buffalo Gordon by Sinclair Lewis is the 1st novel in a new series with character, Nate Gordon.
- Cannons of the Comstock by Brock & Bodies Thoene is the 5th book in the Saga of the Sierras Series.
- The Tinner by Randall Scott is a fictional story of a young boy, Hoak Sawbuck, who joins the Union Navy in pursiut of adventure.
One event not to miss is coming up in January 2007 — the 27th Annual re-creation of a civil war battle that happened in Hernando County in July of l864. This is the largest civil war reenactment in Florida. Presented by Hernando Historical Museum Assoc., Inc. and North Pinellas County Scout Sertoma Club, Inc. A bus tour is being organized by the Citrus Springs Genealogy Society. Tickets are going fast–call early to reserve your seat on the bus.
